Arcturus is a John Alden designed schooner, built in Maine on the east coast of America. She was owned by General George S Patton, who sold her shortly before the outbreak of war. She spent her later years between Hawaii and California until she struggled in to New Zealand in 1990, sorely in need of a major refit.
Now faithfully restored to Alden's plans, this stunning schooner is available for excursions or cruises. Up to date comforts and safety equipment have been discretely added to her traditional mahogony interior but her oregon masts still carry the clouds of sail of the period. Skipper Bruce Dunlop will welcome you aboard for a cruise or an inspection at her berth outside The Loaded Hog at Auckland viaduct's inner basin. |
