The Farr 1020 is one of the worlds best known yacht designers best designs. With over 150 cruising and racing around New Zealand, a stripped out version, the MRX, used as the basis of NZ's elite sailor training fleet, Bruce Farr's 1020 has an excellent pedigree.
Manaia is owned by Seasense Sailing School chief instructor John Moore, and is used for the liveaboard sailing courses he teaches from his base in Nelson, at the top of the South Island. Their internationally recognised RYA syllabus trains students from absolute beginner to Offshore Yachtmaster levels, providing enjoyable, safe and thorough maritime education in a unique environment.
